The port yards and warehouses are adjacent to the berths to facilitate the cargo handling

and storage works in the shortest possible time   

Inside the port territory there is a railway network to offer railway servicices for

most of its areas and quaies and provide cargo transport to and from all the

 Syrian districts and neighbouring   countries.

*The total sea and land area of the port is /3/ millions of square metres.

*The water basins area is /1.2/ million m2.

*The total land area on which the facilities were erected is 1.8 million m2.

*The entrance channel is 200 m wide, 14.5 m deep.

*The main breakwater is /2650/m long and the secondary one is /1620/m long.

*The total length of births is /6400/m                   

*The port comprises three piers with an other one for handling phosphate in addition to

 a berth for sulphur.
