The new projects in the port
**Vital project inside the port:
1-Construction of new two berth’s
2-Construction of a tourist complex
3-Construction of a new grain soils
*1* New two berth’s :
-A quay with a length of /266/ m and water depth of /11/ m with a back yard of /160/ m wide
-A quay attached to the /266/ m long quay of /470/ m long with a Ro/Ro berth of 35 m wide
and aberth at its Western end of 12.5 m wide and a water depth of 15 m
In this respect we would point out that there are back yards which can be used to increase
the production capacity of the two quays, with a total area of a bout /50.000/ m2.
*2* Construction of a tourist complex: 
A Tourist - commercial complex at the south Easterncorner of the port ,
covering an area of about /6000/ m2 ,and including a hotel with all its services
such as restaurants, halls for meetings and conferences a parking area and up-
to-date trading show rooms, this complex is expected to include in one part of
it a passenger hall that meets the requirements of tourism in syria
*3* Construction of new grain silos:
- The Construction of new grain silos to the north of the consolidation shed ,
with an area of about 700 m2 . propsed for construction of thgrain silos with a
capacity of 100.000 tons . this project is in the stage of checking the technical
offers .
*4* Laboratory of analyses :
-The central laboratories were established at the border gates including
the border gate in Tartous Port under decree no.20/2006 to facilitate
and push up conducting the required analyses on the important
materrials through hese gates without need to transporting the samples
for long distances.
- The suitable place was arranged for Tartous laboratories close to the
single window with a storey area equal to 3000 m2 .
- contracts were concluded for the purchase of most of the equipment needed
for the labs , 50% nof has already arrrived at the port and these equipment is
under installation now , 25 % are at Lattakia port , for both ports are labs.
Established are divided into 4 dedicated labs :
1- Human food and animal food labs .
2- Chimical labs .
3- Mineral labs.
4- Construction materials , wood, textile and plastic materials .
- The established labs . Will be able to conduct most of the analyses required
and allowed by the regulation in force ( other than those
restricted to specialized ministers ) for compliance with the Syrian
standard specifications on all imported and exported materials through
the port .
- The company is conducting a more developed study on the best techniques
allowed for direct operation and utilization of the laboratories or through a
specialized scientific firm .
** Construction of a new northern entrance to tartous port
